" ... And there was a great and mighty ram that watched over ... "
" ... And there was a great and mighty bird that flew away ... " it seems to hear the echo of remote fairy tales, arcane legends, it seems to enter into an enchanted atmosphere when you go inside the pictorial world of Fϋsun Fallavollita.
But we immediately realize that the solemn and immobile world, populated by archaic animals, is not seen as a static dream, but rather as a vigilant reality, as an immanent presence well fixed in the reason as well as in the heart of the painter.
It is just this presence of the reason, clear beyond the veil of legend, that builds the originality of the painting of Fϋsun.
There is not only the memory of the history of her people, there are not only the echoes of distant stories heard in her childhood, here there is the awareness of all the events of a warrior ancestry, of beliefs related to the vicissitudes of migration of a people, an archaeology intimately connected with the essence of her nation.
And behind the serene depiction of majestic forms, of fantastic animals, which seem to be heraldic devices, you can clearly perceive the trouble of thinking, the passionate participation to the evolution of the Turkish people in endless vicissitudes of its history.
Thus, there are two levels of reading and two intellective moments in the work of Fϋsun Fallavollita: the unwind planing of the image and the fervour of participation. The result is an intriguing painting, full of echoes and allusions, of memories and awareness, a painting "mature", which is a measure of the capacity of reflection and synthesis of the artist.
